GETTING TO KNOW CHEF CRIS
MY STORY
I grew up in the Dominican Republic, where bold spices and generous spreads weren't just part of meals, they were expressions of love and hospitality. Family gatherings meant tables overflowing with flavor, laughter, and the kind of food that made people linger long after the plates were cleared.When I moved to the U.S., I experienced culture shock in many ways, but one thing never changed: my love for cooking and bringing people together through food. I'll never forget the first time I cooked Dominican rice and beans by myself here. Instead of following the traditional steps, I made plain white rice, seasoned it, and then added the beans. My mom was surprised at how good it turned out, and that moment showed me the power of cooking. It wasn't about perfection; it was about bringing comfort, no matter where you are.
For 15 years, I worked in banking—power suits by day, apron and wooden spoon by night. Even during my busiest days, I was dreaming about what I'd cook next, testing new recipes, or feeding friends just for the joy of it. Eventually, I listened to that voice (okay, it was more like a loud shout) telling me to follow my passion full-time. I chose the name Feast Flavours because it reflects exactly what I hope to bring to every table—abundant, joyful feasts and bold, unforgettable flavors. And yes, I spelled "flavours" the British way on purpose. To me, it adds a little extra flair—something classic, global, and a bit unexpected. Just like my food. Now, I blend global influences with family-style cooking, create beautiful grazing tables, and design charcuterie boards that are anything but basic. Whether it's a cozy meal prep session or an over-the-top spread for your special event, everything I make is meant to be shared—and deeply enjoyed.
